About Cultural Futures

Cultural Futures is affiliated with the International Symposium for Electronic Arts (ISEA2006), as an initiative of the Place, Ground and Practice Working Group for the Pacific Rim New Media Summit (PRNMS), and the outcomes of the New Zealand symposium will be presented at the PRNMS in San Jose, California in August 2006.

Cultural futures is developed by an organisational group consisting of:

• Danny Butt (Principal, Suma Media Consulting, Chair of the Place, Ground and Practice Working Group, Pacific Rim New Media Summit) - coordinator
• Jon Bywater (Programme Leader, Critical Studies, Fine Arts, University of Auckland)
• Nova Paul (Nga Puhi, film maker, Spatial Design / Visual Arts, Auckland University of Technology)

The group receives support from its advisory board:

• Sean Cubitt (Screen and Media, University of Waikato)
• Albert Refiti (Spatial Design, Auckland University of Technology)
• Natalie Robertson (Art and Design / Te Ara Poutama, Auckland University of Technology)
• Jo Smith (Film, Television and Media, University of Auckland)
• Stephen Turner (English, University of Auckland)

Cultural Futures also receives advisory input from the invited guests, and the Place Ground and Practice Working Group from the Pacific Rim New Media Summit.
